Cecelia and Ole" Treaver go to the beach

What a beautiful day.  90F - 32C, green grass, blue sky, birds chirping, palm tree's, beer, wine, little lizards, great company, lots of laughs and many many stories.

After a good breakfast and filling up with zero ethonal gas, we headed to Isle of Palms, over the new bridge which was amazing architect but happens to be a freeway .. YIKES.  Not only that but it was pretty high and the wind was ,.. well blowing.  Anyway, it was a great view, most cars were very respectful for the A .. except for this maniac Andrew Hogg who whipped by us at the speed of light.  This maniac and his sidekick Tiff  were speeding along, passing everyone (what does that guy have under his hood), arms flailing, singing at the top of their lungs. Tiff's hair standing straight up (Bill Spires - note Tiff was not wearing a hat :-))  and not paying attention to their fearless leader Glenn and his trusty sidekick and navigator .. ME, who were getting ready to exit.  Some quick manevering kept him on track and they were back following us through the beautiful Isle of Palms.

The homes were stunning, and after a brief pit stop to tighten Andrews Steering box and have our doggie fix with 2 wired haired Jack Russell's, we dipped our feet in the Atlantic which despite the hot temperatures was still pretty cold but felt Sooooooooooooooo good. We had a great view of Fort Sumtner, and also were thrilled to see our first pelicans and porpoises.

We continued our tour along the closest drive to the ocean and our jaws dropped at the beauty of the homes - WOW - what do these people do for a living and how much to the pay for hurricane insurance?

We looked for an oceanfront patio to have lunch but there was not one, let alone 2 parking lots available in town, so we headed on a bit to the very end of the Island and found Morgan Creek Grill http://www.morgancreekgrill.com/.  A great lunch over looking the harbour, beautiful yachts, good food and as always lots of laughs.

We headed out for Folley Beach on the other side of Charleton - back over the bridge.  This time Andrew and Tiff behaved and stayed behind us like good boys and girls.  Folley beach was not quite as posh as Isle of Palms but a great beach - we could have stayed for hours if only we had the foresight to bring some towels, or chairs or anything to sit on.  A tour of the town and area was enjoyed by all before we headed back to the hotel.

Hmmm that was at 4:30 - it is now 9:35 and we continue to sit outside our rooms - still laughing, telling stories, drinking, wine and beer and munching on Mo's famous Cheeseball, crackers, dip and drinking more wine and beer ...seems to be a theme.  That being said... I think we are all fading, lots of sun today and tomorrow is a long day.  We plan on heading out early (that's not going to happen) and stopping at Beaufort before arriving at St. Augustine.

Night all :-)
