OMG – who would have ever thought that on Easter Weekend in the “Great White North” we would be driving the Model A with the top down – on April 5th??? Not only that but sitting on a patio enjoying good food, beer and wine with the sun beating down and feeling Soooooo GOOD! Eat your hearts out Bill and Sue :-)
It’s all true though. It may just be a little taste of what is to come but such a treat to enjoy the warmth of the sunshine and a drive in the A.
Glenn has been working himself to the bone the last few weeks, installing new brakes, new front spring, trying to get Cecelia ready for the touring season. He’s certainly paid the price with body aches, frustration and challenges at every turn but as always he has pulled through with a Model A that appears to be in tip top shape for the touring season.
Glenn has taken many “test drives” to places unknown but I have enjoyed two drives. The first on Thursday April 1st which was a gorgeous day and we thought would be perfect for a “Grey Goat” night on the patio. Problem was everyone else had the exact same idea. Not a parking spot in sight nor a table on the patio. 2nd attempt was on Easter Sunday April 4th where we enjoyed a leisurely drive around Lake Simcoe. Only a few weeks ago we had taken the same drive in “modern iron” and been astonished by the number of Ice Fishing huts, snowmobiles and ice fisherman on the lake
. This weekend it was the opposite. People walking on the beach, having picnics and like us driving with the top down.
The first official tour of the season is still a few weeks away but the anticipation is growing for a very full and hopefully joyous Model A year. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh let the fun begin :-)
